CHEYENNE, WYOMING – Zonta Club of Cheyenne is still seeking entries for its fifth annual art contest to raise awareness about human trafficking. Entries must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. December 29, 2018. Art pieces are to be dropped off at Flydragon Art Studio located at 600 W. 17th Street in Cheyenne. Entries must include the artist’s name, age, phone number and email address.
The theme of this year’s contest is HOPE: The Key to Hope is Awareness. Art in any medium is welcome including, but not limited to textiles, photographs, paintings, poetry, sculptures, or drawings. Zonta is seeking entries from artists of all ages. Four cash prizes are being offered: $100 for an artist under age 13, $100 for an artist age 13 to 17, $200 for an adult 18 and older, and $200 for the People’s Choice Award.
Art entries will be displayed at Flydragon Art Studio at 600 West 17th Street during January where the general public can help vote for the People’s Choice Award recipient. A free reception for the artists, their friends and families, and the general public will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. For more information on the art contest visit https://www.cheyennezonta.org/ .
Zonta is also sponsoring a follow-up event the evening of January 17, 2019, in partnership with Flydragon Art Studio, wherein the first 30 participants to sign-up will be guided in creating a piece of art focused on the contest’s theme of Hope.
