Why was the Zonta of Cheyenne Foundation formed?
The Foundation was formed in order to allow supporters of the goals of Zonta to make donations that are tax deductible, thereby furthering the benefits to the donors.  The Foundation is not an advocacy group in any way, but was formed for the purpose of raising money to be used for charitable purposes.  Those charitable purposes generally match up with the charitable goals of Zonta Club of Cheyenne and Zonta International, that is, to improve the status and well-being of women locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.

How is the Foundation related to the Zonta Club of Cheyenne?
The Zonta of Cheyenne Foundation and the Zonta Club of Cheyenne are different organizations legally, and in the kinds of activities they do.   The Foundation is a registered Wyoming corporation that annually files its own annual report with the Wyoming Secretary of State.  It is deemed to be a charitable organization by the United States Internal Revenue Service, which means that it focuses on raising money for charity rather than doing advocacy and service projects, such as those done by the Zonta Club of Cheyenne.

However, the Foundation is interested in providing financial support to many of the same or similar causes as those supported by both Zonta Club of Cheyenne and Zonta International.  For both the Foundation and Zonta Club of Cheyenne, the overall goal is to improve the status and well-being of women locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.
